the navigation acts were laws passed by England to maintain control over colonial trade. the acts made colonist buy English goods and limited trade between the colonies and other countries. -

the king believed taxing goods before they got into the colonies would make the colonist less angry.

there was a British guard who was having trouble controlling a group of people so he called a couple soldiers and then one got struck with a club so he let off a shot and then everyone shot. -

The Coercive Acts are names used to describe a series of laws relating to Britain's colonies in North America and passed by the British Parliament in 1774. Four of the acts were issued in direct response to the Boston Tea Party of December 1773. -

The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War. The battle was fought in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy and Cambridge. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
the British brought 2,000 soldiers. the colonist didn't have much training but they came through at the end killing 1,000 British soldiers but losing 400 of there own. -
Olive Branch Petition
olives symbolize peace. everyone blamed the king and parliament for what was happening but wanted to avoid war. -
Declaratory Act
declaration by the British Parliament that accompanied the repeal of the Stamp Act. It stated that the British Parliament's taxing authority was the same in America as in Great Britain. -
