Publishing of Common Sense

1776 BCE

The Publishing of Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine. The Publishing of Common Sense was him telling his arguments for the American independence. The Publishing of Common Sense spread many important ideas all through the 16th and the 19th centuries.

Lexington and Concord

1775 BCE

The Lexington and Concord battle was what started the American Revolutionary war. Lexington and Concord started because British troops were sent from British empire to take all of the colonists weapons. When the British came over they ran into a weak american army but the colonists defeated a 700 me British army.

Intolerable acts

1774 BCE

The Intolerable acts was a term used by the America Patriots for all the laws that were passed by the British parliament. These acts took away the self governing rights that Massachusetts had. this created an outrage of the 13 colonies against the British Parliament.

1st and 2nd Continental Congress

1774 BCE

The 1st and 2nd Continental Congress was created when delegates from each of the 13 colonies except Georgia all met in Philadelphia. They all met in Philadelphia to set up a colonial resistance to the Parliament Coercive Acts.

Boston Tea Party

1773 BCE

The Boston Tea Party Was when a massive amount of tea was thrown overboard into the Boston harbor. This was lead by Samuel Adams and the sons of liberty, and their purpose was to act against the outrageous tea taxes.

Tea Act

1773 BCE

The tea act was another act of the British Parliament, its purpose was to reduce the great amounts of tea that was to help the struggling British East Tea company survive by their excessive tax that was put on the tea sales to the colonies.

Boston Massacre

1770 BCE

The Boston massacre was when 5 colonists were killed by British citizens. As if tensions were not high enough between the colonists and the British.

Townshend act

1767 BCE

The Townshend Acts were multiple acts passed by the parliament. These acts were made to impose things such as glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea that would be imported to the colonies. But the acts were viewed as a form of tax on the colonies.

Stamp act

1756 BCE

The stamp act is an act of the British parliament the effected the products from the American colonies. The stamp act was a duty to tax things like news letters and legal documents along with commercial documents. This was all to benefit the British and it encouraged the American Revolution that was to happen.

French/Indian war

1754 BCE

This war was conflict in a larger war between the British and the french. this war is also known as the seven years war. It began in 1754 and ended in 1763.
