French and Indion War
Great Brition fought a long and coslty war against France which was called the French and Indion war. In order to prevent conflict with Native Americans over land, colonial settlers were forbidden to settle west of the Appalianchian Mountians. -
Sugar Act
Required to pay a tax of 6 pence per gallon on the importance of foreign molasses. -
Stamp Act
The British started taxeing the colonist on newspapers, and marriage liscence. -
Quartering Act
Colonists must supply British troops with housing and other items. -
Stamp Act Repealed
The Brisish parliament ended the Stamp Act. -
Declaratory Act
Parliament declares its sovereignty over the colonies " in all cases whatsoever" -
TownShend Revenue Acts
New duties on glass, lead, paper, paints, tea; customs collections tightened in America -
Tea Act
Parliament gives East Indies Company right to sell tea directly to Americans; some duties on tea reduced. -
Coercive Acts
Boycott of Britsih goods; First Continental Congress convenes. -
Prohibitory Act
Declares Britsih intention to coerce Americans into submission; ambargo on Amercan; American ships seized
