1754-1763
The British needed money to finance the war aginist france. the result was that the british imposed taxes on the colonists. -
Proclamation of 1763
the britissh wanted to aviod conflict with the NA so colonists were not able to go west of the appalation moutians. the colonists were angered because they were told what to do and they have never really been under someone elses control. -
treaty of Paris
brittian claimed all land east of the mississippi river. it was very expensive for them. the colonists decided to settle near the ohio river instead. -
Sugar Act
the british put taxes on sugar and molasses, even though the colonists didn't relly use theses products they were still mad because they didn't like the fact that the taxes were growing. -
Quartering Acts
colonists had to provide the british soilders with food water shelter and the colonists couldnt do anything about it. there was no result they hated it but they couldn't do anything. -
Stamp Act
They put taxes on stamps, on any leagle document paper products. the result was the stamp act congress was formed to start a boycott. -
Writs of Assistance
1761-1772
costumes officers could search ships and any time and point. the result was that the colonists felt like thier privacy was being invaded. -
Townshend Acts
tax on varios house held iteams. the colonists once again boycotted and this law was repealed. -
Boston Massacre
the boston massicure was a riot of coloniststhat confronted british soldiers about them doing wrong. five people died in the massicure including a former slave named Crispus Attucks. -
Tea Act
The boston tea act was when a group calleed the the sons of liberty went and dressed like natives and dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the water the brtiish controled the amount of tea they were selling. -
Boston tea party
tea mertchants were cut out of tea trade with brittish because of the prices being lowered.this resulted ing the boston tea party. the colonists formed a group and dressed up as native americans and dumped out 90,000 pounds of tea. -
Intolerable Acts
this was a series of laws that enacted in the parliament in1774 to punish the massachuetes colonies for the boston massicure. -
1st continental congress
This was when they had thier first meeting to talk about british being unfair. The first contenital congress was a meeting that colonists had and this was the first of two. -
"Give me Liberty" speech
This was a speach written by patrick henery he is saying that he would rather die than not have liberty. he gave this speach on March 23, 1775. -

one of the first battles of the revolutionary war. Brittian won. it was known as the shot herd around the world people didnt really hear it it just effected everyone econimicly and phyisicaly. -

the second contenital congress was a convention of deligates from the thirteen colonies that had a meeting that made Goerge Washington the president. -
Bunker Hill
The battle of bunker hill was a battle that was on top of a hill named Breeds hill. the millita was told "don't shoot until you see the whites og their eyes" . They were low on gun powder and they wanted to make a good shot instead of just loosing all their gun powder. The british won and the colonists retreated. -

Also one of the first (the second) battles of the revolutionary war. "shot herd around the world" -

Battle of New York
This battle was in 1776. The British was aiming to take control New York City. They attacked Washington's Continental army and caused many problems, but Washington avoided capture. The Americans lost this battle and the British occupied New York for the rest of the war. -
Battle of Trenton
George washington's famouse crossing of the deleware river.Him and 2,400men under his command suprised the british. this battle was won by the Americans and most of the British surrendured. -

gorge washington captured many british troops in princeton and new jersey. mr. washington made them retreat out of new jersey to brunswick, philadelphia they stayed there for the winter. -
Battle of Saratoga
This was a turning point in the revolutionary war because after we won this the french and soanish came to our aid. Burgoyne surrendured his whole army to the US. -
winter at valley fordge
George washington and his men had to stay at valley fordge for the winter. The winter there was very cold and they didnt have much food. Most soldiers died from either starvation or frost bite. -
Battle of Yorktown
Cornwallis surrendured to the US on october 17, 1781. The us then wins their independance. -

Great britian realized that the united states is an independant nation. The US agreed to give back all the land taken from the loyalists. The United States gained all the land east of the mississippi.
