Proclamation of 1763
The proclamation of 1763 is the law that the British put on the colonists which prevented them from going west and create tension between the Native Americans or the French people. Eventually , this law was broken by the colonists. Then the British put punishment on them. -
The Stamp Act
The stamp act was put into affect by the British in result of them being in debt from the war. This was an act that made the taxes extremely high on stamps and paper things. This angered the colonists because all the things that were made out of paper were being taxed to bay off British debt. -
Boston Massacre
The things happening of the time of the Boston Massacre is the stamp act, tea act, declaratory acts, etc. Then there was a confrontation and someone yelled fire and the red coats shot into the crowd and wounded and killed a few people. The colonists were provoking the red coats taunting them, etc. This led to more arguing between both locations. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act is when Britain decided to start taxing the tea products in the colonies. This was in response to then not rebelling to the stamp act. This angered the colonists and was the reason for the Boston Tea Party. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party happened because of the tea act. It was when a bunch of colonists dressed up as Indians and they threw a bunch of tea into the harbor. This angered the British and this is why the intolerable acts were introduced. -
Intolerable Acts
The intolerable acts were 4 acts or laws that were set by British parliament in response to the Boston Tea Party. They took away basic rights or freedoms like privacy, trade, jury, and representative government. This led to the American revaluation because their ways of life were being impacted by laws made by the parliament, colonists were very angry about the laws. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The battle of Lexington and Concord was the first step towards the revolution. The first shot heard around the world happened here, who shot it however is unknown. The main goal of the British was to find and seize the colonists weapons. This only made the tension worse by making the colonists angry about their stuff trying to be seized. -
Green Mountain Boys
Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys captured forts at Ticonderoga. This capture helped with the invasion of Canada. This was important because after the colonists attacked Quebec they retreated to Fort Ticonderoga. -
Bunker Hill
Bunker Hill was after Lexington and Concord. The British tried to take Bunker Hill from the colonists. The only reason the British won was because the colonists ran out of ammo. The British lost many soldiers and the colonists showed they are not easily giving up. -
Common sense
Common sense is a piece of propaganda written by Thomas Paine. The whole point of common sense was for it to be given to loyalists in hope they would want to become a patriot and be free from England. This worked in the patriots favor by increasing amounts of patriots and of the army. -
Declaration of Independence
The declaration of independence was made to declare independence of the colonies. That means that they would no longer be under the British government. This was because the Colonists were very angry with what Britain were doing. -
Battle of Trenton/Princton
The battles of Trenton and Princeton were led by George Washington. Washington crossed the Delaware the morning after Christmas and attacked the British and the Hessian. This attracted more men into the continental army. -

The battle of Saratoga was where Gates led the colonists army to victory against Burgoyne's army. This victory convinced France to sign the treaty of alliance with the US. -

The War in the South was when the British captured coastal cities, Cornwallis Marched them into these places. This is important because Cornwallis retreated and then went into Yorktown. -

The battle of Yorktown was the end of the revolutionary war. The British general Cornwallis surrounded at the end of the battle. The British signed the Treaty of Paris to recognize that the US is independent.
