French and Indian war
In the 1754 though 1763 the British and Indians and the colonist and the french were fighting for land and a valley and west of the app mountions. All wanted the land and natural resources. plus aces to the Mississippi river. They fought along the British. Britian wins making the colones go west Britain starts taxing people. -
Sugar And Stamp
The sugar act they enforced taxes by the British government and the stamp act they had to pay for every peace of paper. The British had to pay for the war so they put taxes in place.The patriots protested and boycotted so they had to come up with a new way to pay. They supported because it would go to the British government. British declaratory had rules and enforced taxes. -
The Townshend Acts
In 1767 there was this thing called The townshend act. The governments did this by putting taxes on glass,tea,paint. The reason for this was to pay the military expenses and Governor salary. The patriots respond by making boycotts and attacked and making there own clothes insted of buying the British clothes. The loyalist just paid the taxes.Wanted more troops and got more troops. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston tea party was on the night of December,16,1773 Samuel Adams and the sons of liberty threw 342 chest of tea over bored. The cause of the Boston tea party was a protest because of the tax act. The role of the patriots was to dress like Indians and to throw tea over bored. They were mad at the patriots. Britain shut down Boston harbor. -
Boston Massaacre
On the date march 5th 1770 the Boston massacre was when colonist were rioting against the British and they were fighting and calling each other names. the cause was the sugar and stamp act and that they had to pay taxes. the loyalist really dident care they would pay. They sent soldiers to fight for them. They wanted to turn the loyalist against them. -
Intolerable acts
On the date May,20, 1774 a set of new laws placed on colonist by Britain as punishment for the tea party. Punish colonist for destroying the tea. Angered they meant ti discuss what to do next. Some loyalists became less loyal and began to support the patriots and people of Boston. -
First Continental Congress
On the date of September 5 - October 26 A group of 55 delegates from 12 colonies met in Philadelphia to discuss what to do about Britain and the intelligible acts. Britans punishment using the inalienable acts was the reason to meet. Patriots wanted to organize militias and prepare to fight Britain. Also they sent a list to Britain. KG3 refused the demands and sent troops to take weapons
