The Talks of Removing Slavery
During the Civil War, the Radical Republican leaders argued that slavery and the Slave Power had to be permanently destroyed, and that all forms of Confederate nationalism had to be suppressed. Moderates said this could be easily accomplished as soon as Confederate armies surrendered and the Southern states repealed secession and accepted the 13th Amendment most of which happened by December 1865. -

April 9th, 1865 Robert. E. Lee surrenders to Union General Ulysses. S. Grant effectively ending the American Civil War R.Lee was forced to abandon the confederate capital of richmond. He was also blocked from joining the surviving confederate force in North Carolina he had no other option. -

Abraham Lincoln calls a reconstruction after the civil war which left over 200,000 people dead and several decapitated never able to return to their regular form. he said ''This will be a new beginning", "A rebuilding of trust and a dedication to peace. -

Mourning the loss of Abraham Lincoln
After the loss of Abraham Lincoln so many people were depressed because he promised a new beginning and now people are confused of who is going to be there new leader as opposed to people living in the south some were mourning the death of Abraham Lincoln but most people in the south celebrated Lincoln's death. The southern states did not want Lincoln to win the 1860 election because Lincoln was a republican and republican party opposed slavery Lincoln never said he wanted to end slavery. -

So she told the soldiers to step across the street and she will hang the weeds. The soldiers step across the street and the Woman hangs the widows weeds and she also hangs herself and commits suicide -
The Lady who didn't mourn Lincoln's death
A lot of people in the south didn't like Abraham Lincoln but there was this one woman in particular. A couple of soldiers went to her house and found out she wasn't mourning over Lincoln's death so they told her to display mourning or there will be consequences and she said Abraham Lincoln was the reason her husband and her kid are dead she will not mourn so they went in her house and found Widows Weeds and the dress and vail she used to bury her family. -
13th Amendment ratified
December 6th, 1865 United States13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, officially ending the institution of slavery, is ratified. “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” -
The 14th Amendment Ratified
On July 28, 1868, the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified. The amendment grants citizenship to "all persons born or naturalized in the United States" which included former slaves who had just been freed after the Civil War. -
The 15th Amendment Ratified
Passed by Congress February 26, 1869, and ratified February 3, 1870, the 15th amendment granted African American men the right to vote. United States Constitution prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's "race, color, or previous condition of servitude".
