Cotton Gin Created
In 1793, a man named Eli Whitney had created a machine called the Cotton Gin. The Cotton Gin was a big part of history, and one of the reasons of the Industrial Revolution starting. The cotton gin was used to clean cotton faster, and easier way. Before humans would clean cotton by hand making it only 1 pound a day, but after the cotton gin was created it made it 50 pounds a day per slave. -
Whiskey Rebellion
The tax was intended to payy off the debt caused by the Revolutionary War earlier on. Farmers were upset about this and stopped distilling there grain mixtures into whiskey, as well as refusing to pay tax for whiskey. In Western Pennsylvania, farmers had staged the whiskey rebellion against the tax with violence. General Henry Lee and Alexander Hamilton led an army of13,000 soldiers to put down the uprising, news started spreading and the rebels had fled. -
John Adams Elected President
John Adams was the second president elected in the United States and had one term as president. -

Nat Turner leads a rebellion
Almost 200 years ago, in 1831 a slaved Nat Turner had led the most famous rebellion in U.S. History. He had started a slave revolt all over many different plantations in Southern more Virginia. Turner and the rest of the rebels would go house by house killing slave owners, freeing slaves. After two days of this, Nat and 70 followers killed about 60 white people, and the militia had put a stop to it. Later, Nat and 50 slaves were hung and skinned. -

The Kansas Nebraska act was passed by Congress in 1854 which allowed people in the territories decide for themselves whether or not to allow slavery within their boarders. -
The Pottawatomie Massacre
John Brown found human bondage bad and unthinkable. Him and his wife Mary settled in Kansas to wage a war on the forces of slavery. A few days after the sack of Lawrence, Brown searched for revenge. He was furious that the people of Lawrence had chosen not to fight. He told his followers that they must "fight fire with fire," and they must "strike terror in the hearts of the pro-slavery people." In his eyes, the only just fate for those responsible for the border rowdy laws was death. -
Abraham Lincoln elected
Abe Lincoln was the sixteenth president of the United States. He had done many things that marked history in an a great way. He abolished slavery, led the United States through the Civil War, and preserved the Union. He also strengthened the economy while it was at its worst. Before presidency he was a lawyer in Illinois who was self educated. Lincoln was the very first president assacinated and will go down as one of the best in history.
