    3. Truman Doctrine: U.S. gave aid to Greece and Turkey that helped those countries defeat communist insurgencies

    2. Nuclear Arms Race: many believed that the more nuclear weapons you had, the more powerful you were. Both America and Russia massively built up their stockpiles of nuclear weapons
    3. Communist Bloc. Was comprised of the following Central and Eastern European countries: Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, East Germany, Poland, Albania, the Soviet Union, and Czechoslovakia.
