McKinley Defeats Bryan
- William McKinley defeated William Bryan in the race for presidency on November 3rd 1896.
- This election ended the Third Party System and began a new revolutionary system known as the Fourth Party System.
- McKinley was willing to drive the economic depression by changing high prices, low profits and the high unemployment rate.

Turning Point of American Foreign Policy
- During the year of 1898, the United States conversed in our Foreign Policy.
- The United States were disrupted when a series of events occurred, causing our American traditions to be misused.
- The Spanish American War would change our “Foreign Policy”, into reconstruction of our “new” commencement.

USS Maine Explosion
- On February 15th 1898 the Maine spent her active career along the east coast of the United States in the Caribbean Sea.
- An explosion occurred virtually destroying a third of the ship causing it to sink.
- The wreckage lies at the bottom of the harbor along with the lost crew members’ souls.

-On April 25th 1898 war was declared between Spain and the United States.
-Before the War, much conflict was arisen in Cuba, due to the unjust government.
-The main issue of the Spanish American War was the Cubans want for independence. (The Cubans relied on the United States for “support”, but didn’t receive it.) -

Coal Strike of 1902
- In Pennsylvania the United Mine Workers were on strike asking for better working conditions, which included higher wages, shorter work days and recognition towards their union.
- Desperate times called for desperate measures and the mine workers were willing to stop all winter fuel supply to all major cities.
- President Roosevelt was willing to find commission that suspended the strike and lowered most publicity that the strike was receiving.

Great White Fleet is Launched
- On December 16th 1907 the fleet completed a circumnavigation of the world to follow the president’s orders.
- Roosevelt gives orders to the United States Navy to prepare and launch the “Great White Fleet”.
- “The Great White Fleet” was a total of 16 battleships separated into two squadrons, along with other specialized escorts.

The New Deal
The United States interacted with the “New Deal” between 1933 and 1936.
-The New Deal was based off the structural ideas of the Democratic Party.
-President Roosevelt gave executive orders to focus on relief, recovery, and reform.
-The New Deal was a political realignment that the Republicans opposed. -
The Nazi Empire Grows
-From 1933, to 1945 the Nazi Empire continues to dominate many nations.
-The Nazi Party was controlled by Adolf Hitler.
- An estimated amount of: six million Jews were killed, along with many more. -
The Great Depression Ends
-In 1941, the great depression ends, with high unemployment, and millions of people devastated.
-President Hoover was blamed by many, for the cause of the Great Depression. -
The Lend-Lease Act
-President Roosevelt signs the Lend-Lease Act on March 11, 1941.
-The United States agreed to give supplies, for war expenses, etc. the biggest nation the United States supplied to was Great Britain.
- The United States supplied a total of $50.1 billion, which is equivalent to $656 billion today. -
German Invades USSR
-On June 22, 1941, the Nazi Germany invades the Soviet Union, seeking power.
-Germany wanted to eliminate any Communist threat to Germany.
-Soviet Union failed to seize the Nazi Leadership.

Pearl Harbor Is Attacked
-On December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked the United States Naval Base, at Pearl Harbor.
- The attack was intended to prevent any interference with the Empire of Japan plan. -

-On June 6, 1944 United States troops invade Normandy Landings, in operation overload.
- DDAY contributed to an allied victory in the war.
-The United States seized the Nazi Empire, in a combat-like attack. -

-Began on June 5th of 1947, and was the United States Initiative to aid Europe.
-The United States game economic support to help rebuild the European economies. (After the end of WWII) -

-On June 24th, 1948 a blockade was used to block Western Allies.
-Their strategy was to force Western powers to allow the Soviet Union, to start supplying Berlin with essential supplies. (like food, fuel and aid.) -
Vietnam War
-On November 1st, 1955, war was declared between other nations, the United States soon got involved as a allie.
- The United States joined to prevent a Communist takeover of South Vietnam.
- (This Dealt with a wide containment strategy.) -
Kent Protesting
-On May 4th, 1970 a strike went on at Kent University, in protest against the Vietnam War.
-Turns out the National Guard opened fire on a group of students, wounding many, and fatally killing 4 students. -
Iran War
-Started on September 22, 1980, between Iran and the United States.
- The war was fought at first because, of the border disputes and was motivated by fears that the Iranian Revolution influenced. -
USSR Allows Opposition Political Parties
-On February 7th, 1990, the USSR allows opposition of political parties.
- The USSR is a communist- based, and in the past has heavily controls all political parties. -
