Columbus Discovers America

Oct 12, 1492

In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. Columbus was trying to find land to the West Indies but he found America instead. He discovered the land we live in today.

The 13 Orginal Colonies

This is when the Original Colonies were govened by the king. England had taken control of America.

Fench/Indian War

This is when England and France were fighting about the borders. It was a seven year war and even though England won it came with huge consequences.

Boston Tea Party

Dec 13, 1773

There was a tax on tea so they could only drink Eglands tea. So some angry colonists came, dressed like Indians and dumped the tea in Bostons Harbor. This is one of the leading acts to the American Revolution.

The American Revolution Starts

We had just declared our independence from Britian. They are going to fight to keep us and we are going to fight to be our own country. We win after many years of warring.

This is when are government was made. This is what made the government we love. It made the checks and balances.

Industrial Revloution Starts

The Industrial Revolution was a big jump for our country. It was the making of new and inovative things. Like the railroad and steamboat.

Lewis and Clark

This is when the exploration of our new land that Thomas Jefferson bought from France. Lewis and Clark faced many dangers and beautiful landscapes to explore the new land America bought.

The Missouri Compromise

Mar 3, 1820

The Missouri compromise allowed Maine to be a free state and Missouri to be a slave state. This would result in conflict and the civil war.

Bleeding Kansas

Oct 28, 1856

This was a fight weather or not Kansas would be free or a slave state. After several deaths it deciced to be a free state.
