Annexation of Hawaii

Payne-Aldrich Tariff
It raised the tariff on imports instead of lowering the tariff as Taft had wanted. He angered the Progressives in his party because he signed and making a public statement in its defense. -
The Great Migration
Millions of African Americans traveled north to seek jobs in the cities. Their decision to leave the South were: Deteriorating race relations, destruction of their cotton crops by the boll weevil, and job opportunities in northern factories that opened up when white workers were drafter in WWII renewed it. -
Mann-Elkins Act
