  • Navigation Acts

    Navigation Acts
    Purpose- To direct trade between England and the colonies.
    Outcome- Smuggling became more common.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Purpose- This act lowered tax on sugar so the colonists would hopefully pay it now.
    Outcome-Angered colonists because they thought it interfered with their rights.
  • Proclamation Of 1763

    Proclamation Of 1763
    Purpose- To aviod conflict with Native americans, could could not move west of the Appalachian Moutians.
    Outcome-Colonists were mad beecause they fought for that land, and some already bought land west of them.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Purpose- Britan was in debt form the Seven Years War and saw the colonies as a revenue source.
    Outcome- No taxation without representation, mobs, and boycotts.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    Purpose- Parliament had to right to tax and made desisions for British colonists.
    Outcome- Helped build up Revolutionary war and some thought it would bring more taxes.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    Purpose- made this act once the Stamp act was repealed so they were still taxing colonists.
    Outcome- Boycotts were organized and so was the Sons and Daughters of Librety.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    Purpose- To control the trade of tea.
    Outcome- The Boston tea Party.
  • Coercive Acts (Intolerable Acts)

    Coercive Acts (Intolerable Acts)
    Purpose- Intended to punish Massachusetts residents and didnt want to lose control of the colonies.
    Outcome- Colonits felt that it violated their rights as English citizens.
  • Qubec Act

    Qubec Act
    Purpose- To set up government in Quebec and give them land west of Appalachian Mountians and North of the Ohio River.
    Outcome- Colonists called this an Intolerable Act, because it was Intolerable.
