Neutrality Acts Revised
President Rooselvelt knew that if the Allied Powers fell in any way, the US would be forcefully drawn into war. Knowing this, he asked Congress to allow our Allies to buy US arms. -
Lend-Lease Act Passed
To help the Allies, the Lend-Lease Act was passed. This allowed President Rooselvelt to lend or lease arms and supplies to any country of vital importance to the United States of America. -
US Escorts the Brits
During the summer of 1941, the US NAvy was escorting British ships that were carrying US arms. Hitler became aware of this and ordered his submarines to sink any cargo ships they came across. -
Undeclared Naval War
A German U-boat fired on a US Destroyer in the Atlantic Ocean. President Roosevelt ordered the US navy commanders to shoot any German submarine in sight. The USA was now involved in an undeclared naval war with Adolf Hitler.
