The “Declaration of Rights of Man” was created; from this moment on, men were declared to have rights; they were protected and they were free. (they had their rights) -
Royal Family Flee's France
King Louis XIV and his family tried to flee France; some women in Paris took action and fled (marched) them back to Paris. -
Arrested
Because they tried to flee France, (King Louis XIV and his family) he is arrested along with his family. -
Working on a new Constitution
This was when a new constitution was created; the National Assembly got together and they said they would not separate until a constitution based on the Enlightenment Ideas and the American Revolution had been created. Because of the constitution, a new government would be created; when the constitution was published, it meant that they had gone from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy. -
France vs Austria
France announces a war would start in Austria; this meant the start of the French Revolutionary Wars. The people wanted the ideas of the Enlightenment to spread and they believed that war would bring the country together. -
Austrians defeat France
The French were being beaten by the war by the Austrians, The French lands were being rapidly invaded by the Austrians. -
First Meeting / New Constitution
National Convention announces its first meeting in which because of the monarchy being overthrown, they would have to make a new constitution. -
Guillotine
King Louis XIV was sent off to the deadly guillotine where he would have his head cut off.
