At the age of 16, ending his studying with Aristotle he joins his father's army. His father already has control of all city-states except Athens and Thebes.

The Macedonians go to war with the Thebes and Athenians. Alexander leads the attack against the Thebes while his father fights the Athenians.

The Thracian and Illyrians raise up in rebellion. They inspire Greek city-states of Thebes to rebel, Alexander quickly besieges the city and razes in to the ground showing how powerful he is.

Alexander leads army to fight the Persians

After savage fighting the Persians retreat, Alexander then moves across southern coast of Asia headed toward Gordium. As he travels he liberates a number of cities under Persian rule.

Alexander solves the Gordian Knot

Wintering at Gordium, Alexander solve the Gordian Knot, which held together the yoke and pole of a wagon belonging to King Midas. Legend says that who ever solved the puzzle would rule all Asia.

Alexandria

331 BCE

He creates Alexandria to be a hub of Greece commerce and culture. After conquering Babylon he incorporates Persian officials into his administration and adopts Persian customs to hold his empire together.

Alexander's drunken night

328 BCE

Suffering from tensions of warfare Alexander becomes drunk at a banquet. He and he close companion Cleitus, fall into an argument. Alexander then accidentally stabs Cleitus with a spear, and Alexander is then filled with remorse of his friends death.

Alexander in India

326 BCE

Alexander and his troops cross the Hindu Kush into northern India. They defeat King Porus, leader of a Kingdom east of the Hydaspes River, they figured out how to attack Porus' war elephants. After months in India Alexander's troops refuses to go any further so they head back Babylon.

Death of Alexander

Died from a fever on his way back to Greece.
