Treaty Of Paris

The British won territory after the 7 year war but, they had problems governing it. This was one of the causes of the American Revolution.

The Sugar Act
The Sugar Act was the act that raised taxes on sugar and molasses from the French and Dutch West Indies. They were trying to increase revenues to fund enlarged British Empire responsibilities following the French And Indian War.

Stamp Act
This was the first internal tax levied directly on American Colonists by the British government. The act came at the time when the British empire was in debt from the Seven Year War and looked at the colonies as a revenue source. The colonists started to argue that only their own representative assemblies could tax them. So, they started to mob violence to intimidate stamp collectors into resigning. The Townshend Act

Boston Massacre
This occurred when a squad of British soldiers came to support a sentry who was being attacked with a snowballs by a crowd and let loose a valley of shots. Three people died immediately and two later died of wounds and 6 people were injured. Committees Of Correspondance
The Committees Of Correspondence were the American Colonies' means for maintaining communication lines in the years before the Revolutionary War. It was organized a decade before the revolution. That was when the deteriorating relationship with Great Britain, made it super important for the colonies to share ideas and information. The Tea Act
The Tea Act was one of the many measures imposed on the colonists by the British government in the decade leading to the American Revolutionary War. The act's purpose was to bail out the East India Company, which was an important part of the British economy. So they decided to tax the colonists on tea imported from Britain. The Boston Tea Party
This event occurred in Boston Harbor. Where a group of colonists from Massachusetts, dressed as Mohawk Indians.Then boarded three ships and threw three hundred and forty two chests of tea into the harbor. The colonists demanded that the tea be returned to England. They did this in protest of the Tea Act of 1773, which was a bill designed to save the East India Company. Coercive Acts / Intolerable Acts.
The British Parliament passed this act because they were upset by the Boston Tea Party and other acts of destruction by colonists. The aim of the legislation was to restore order in Massachusetts and punish Bostonians for their tea party. The Coercive Acts were a series of 4 different acts. Quartering Act
This was the act that required Americans to assist in the housing of British troops, who were there to squash liberties. This was one of the issues that made the colonists rebel against the British before the Revolutionary War. Battle of Lexington and Concord

The Battle of Bunker Hill

Thomas Paine's Common Sense

The Declaration of Independence

The Battle of Trenton/Princeton [Washington's Crossing of The Delaware]
Washington's crossing of the Delaware was before the Battle of Trenton of the American Revolution. It was a surprise attack organized by Washington against Hessian forces. The Battle of Saratoga
The Battles of Saratoga were a very big turning point in the American Revolution. British general John Borgoyne's army beat American forces in the first battle. The British general decided to attack the Americans again at Bemis Heights on October 7th, but was defeated and forced to retreat. He surrendered ten days later. The Battle of Yorktown

The Treaty of Paris
This negotiated between the US and Great Britain, ended the Revolutionary War, and recognized American Independence. The five people who were going to negotiate the treaty were Henry Laurens, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, John Jay, and Ben Franklin. However, Henry Laurens was captured. Thomas Jefferson didn't leave the United States in time to make it. Therefore, the Treaty was conducted by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and John Jay.
