Al-Queda's First Attack
In the first al-Qaida attack against U.S. forces, Al-Queda members bombed a hotel where U.S.Soldiers were staying. Two Austrian tourists were alsp killed. At about the same time, terrorists were found in an airport in Yemen armed wtih rockets. They were planning on launching the rockets at United States aircraft. Troops quickly left the area. -
First Attack on the World Trade Center
A bomb was bulit and transportated to an underground garage at the trade center, and denonated, killing six people and injuring about 1,500. Yousef, nephew of Khalid Sheik Mohammed, leads the attack, along with about twelve other local muslims in the New York area. The FBI later learned that they were staying in a safehouse owned by Bin Laden. -
Bombings in New York
Terrorists plan a series of bombings dangerously close to each other in New York. The bombings were intended for different New York monuments and public places. On June 23, 1993, FBI agents raided a warehouse were members were mixing the chemicals for the bombs. -
Somalia Attacks
Due to attacks by Al-Queda trained Somalians, 18 US troops are killed and two US helicopters are shot out of the sky. Due to this attack, US forces pull out of Somaiia and Bin Laden hails this as a great victory for the Islamic world. -
Bangkok Truck Hijackings
Terrorists from Al-Queda highjack a delivery truck in Bangkok, kill the driver, and load a one-ton bomb on board. The target for the bomb was the Isreali Embassy. Luckily, the truck has an accident and crashes. Several of the many people involved were arrested. -
Shrine of Reza Bombing
Ramzi Yousef, blows up the Shrine of Reza along with other civilians at the scene. The explosion took out the entire wall of the mausoleum. Yousef's brother and father were also involved in the attack. -
Attempted Assanation of Bill Clinton
During President Bill Clinton's trip to the Middle East in November 1994, Al-Queda took extensive video surveillance of the president and sent it to Bin Laden. The Secret Service did not know anything about these videos and the plot until years after it happened. -
"The Day of Hate"
Bombs placed on board 11 jumbo jets by Al-Queda are set to denonate over a matter of hours over the US's pacific coast. This would have killed an estimated 4,000 people! This plot, named "The Day of Hate" was lead by Ramzi Yousef, the leader of the first World Trade Center Bombing. Only because of a fire in Yousef's apartement before the planned date , is what prevented the attack from happening. Later, Yousef sent his plan to Bin Laden, and due to a few changes, became the plan for 9/11. -
Truck Bombing
A truck bomb explodes outside the Saudi National Guard Communications Center in central Riyadh, killing two Indian Policemen and five American Troops. The men behind it are executed before the FBI can determine their connections to Al-Queda. -
Al-Queda Moves
After Bin Laden is exiled from Sudan, he moves his opperation to Afganastan. By September, the Taliban controls most of the country. -

Embassy Bombing
Bombs explode at the U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Tanzania, killing more than 200 people and injuring about 5,000. The U.S. then returns fire with air strikes at training camps. -
USS Cole Bombings
Two suicide bombers that are associated with Al-Queda, attack the navy destroyer USS Cole in Yemen, killing 17 people. -

The Terrorist Attacks of Septemeber 11
