  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris separated America from Great Britain. This also ended the American Revolution. It was signed by Benjamin Franklin.

  • Call of the Estate General

    The Estates General called in 1789 was the first one in since 1614. This meeting was called by King Louis XVI.

  • Tennis Court Oath

    The deputies of the Third Estate took an oath to not not to disband until a new French constitution had been adopted. They did this in defiance of King Louis XVI's order to disperse.

    Haiti wanted to be there own country and to end slavery. France did not want that.
