The triangle trade, a trade of African slaves between England, Africa, and the America's begin. -
First Slaves Come To America
The first slaves started arriving in Colonial America. THey were used for tobacoo mainly at first but then moved on to cotton plantaions in the south. -
VOC Starts Trading Slaves
At the time, the VOC was one of the larger trading companies at the time. They were huge slave traders. They were responsiable for the movement of millions of slaves. -
Act XII
Act XII was a law that stated that a child status is the same as a mother. This allowed slave owners to rape and make slaves have children and they didn't have to take responsibilaty. Plus, they got more slaves out of it. -
Bacon Burns Jamestown
Bacon's rebellion takes over Jamestown. The following morning, they burn all the homes and the churches. -
Bacon Dies
Nathaniel Bacon, in the midst of leading a rebellion against the governor of Virginia, dies of dysentery at the house of Thomas Pate in Gloucester County. Joseph Ingram takes command of the rebel troops. -
Stono Rebellion
After Florida allows Slaves who come for salvation freedom, some slaves rebel in attempt to go to florida. They don't make it and are shot down by a local militia -
Triangle Trade Ends
Britan Abolishes slavery, which causes it to end. -
Andrew Jackon Becomes President
Andrew Jackosn was the first president to talk about expanding to the west. He talks about how it's a waste of space and we should be out there due to manifest destiny. -
Removal Act of 1830
The Removal act of 1830 was the relocation of over 15,000 cherokee indians in to oklohoma. This took a couple of years and they were promised 9 million dollars. They were deducted 6 million in the treaty they were forced to sign. The main reason they wanted them out is becuase they want the lands for themselves so they can hold slaves there. -
VOC Stops Importing Slaves
The VOC runs out of buisness, causing all the deals with slaves to end with it. -
Abe Lincholn Becomes President
Abe Lincholn becomes a Republican President in a mainly Democratic country. At the time, democrats were a lot more conservative, while republicans were more liberal. Even though he wasn't an abolitionist, this was the begging of the emancipation of African-Americans.
