Nasa, Blue Marble
The famous picture presenting the whole globe called Blue Marble was taken by the crew of Apollo 17. It's one of the most recognizable photos all over the world. What I find surprising about it and relevant to art studies is reason why this photo was made is closely associeted with science. Blue Marble became popular not only due to it's visual value but also significance in the technological development. Looking at the Blue Marble I believe merging technology with art is important nowadays.
