  • Proclamation of 1763

    This act claimed all of the western territory between the Allegheny Mountains, Florida, the Mississippi River, and Quebec for the Indians to use.
  • Currency Act

    This act was put into place to prevent the colonists from being able to use credit paper in Parliament.
  • Sugar Act

    This act prohibited the purchasing of alcohol from other sources outside of Britain and placed taxes on sugar, wine, coffee, and silks.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    The forced the colonists house and feed British soldiers.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act taxed all shipped goods into the colonies and forced the colonists to use said goods and forbade them from purchasing from other sources.
  • Declaratory Act

    This act forced the colonies to be subjected to any new law parliament wished to make.
  • Townshend Act

    This act caused the colonists to now have to pay taxes on even more common items such as clothes, tea, and other locally produced products.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    3 citizens were killed by British soldiers after a mob formed around them. This led to a massive uproar of colonists and Parliament decided to repeal the Townshend acts except for tea.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The colonists refused to buy tea from Britain and smuggled a plentiful amount of tea in the colonies from outside sources. Many colonists decided to board a shipment of tea that was going to be forced upon the colonists and threw it into the sea.
  • Coercive Acts

    These acts were passed by Parliament in order to stop all shipments to the colonies until the tea was paid for.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    The province of Quebec was expanded with this act and it continued to ability to hold trials without a jury. It was included by the Americans as part of the 5 coercive acts.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act made soldiers be able to be stationed and housed in even private homes and the colonists were not able to retaliate. It also increased the amount of British soldiers in the colonies.
