  • Proclamation Act of 1763

    Proclamation Act of 1763
    This act created a line that the Europeans would not be allowed to go over so they would not cross into native lands. The colonist wanted to have good farm land so they just ignored it cause this is when the revolution started.
  • Currency act

    Currency act
    This act made it where paper bills would no longer work you needed hard currency or coins. This was a way to make currency even harder to attain for the colonist decreasing business since they have no money.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act created taxes on sugar and other luxury items. The colonist were against the payment and the slogan "no taxation without representation" started to be used.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This was a tax on paper, cards, dice, and just about anything that the British could tax. In turn, this was later shut down because the colonist and the merchants could not make any money due to the crazy taxes.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act made it so that the colonist would have to provide shelter and food for British soldiers. The colonist weren't happy about this because they couldn't really refuse causing more frustration to build.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    This act was shortly after they got rid of the stamp act and modified the sugar act. This a good thing that the colonies were happy about but the Declaratory Act would give parliament power to make laws on anything affecting the colonies.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    This put a tax on most items that were imported from England a few of those were glass, paper, and tea. This helped to get money back to the colonist but it was spent on other things.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was when British soldiers opened fire on a group of colonists due to some in the crowd throwing snowballs at the soldiers.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This is when the colonists really started to get fed up with the British taxes and so they decide to dump British tea into the Boston harbor to send a message.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act gave Royal governors the ability to choose where soldiers were housed rather than a colonial governor. They did not like this but there were no huge actions against this.
  • Intolerable Act

    Intolerable Act
    This act was made due to the Boston Tea Party. What it did was close down the Boston harbor until the tea that was thrown in was paid for. This threatened the livelihood of the colonists since they could no longer import items or export.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This act added land to the British rule and in turn, this caused a lot of the colonists to get mad due to the religious side of things.
