proclamation of 1763
the proclamation of 1763 stopped the colonists from expanding westward past the appalachians, this caused anger within the colonies due to not being able to expand more and having less freedom after coming from a long period of basically being able to rule themselves. -
the sugar act
the sugar act came along at the end of the molasses act which taxed foreign imports of molasses. The sugar act caused there to be a tax on sugar and many other things such as coffee, wines, cambric and pimiento which angered the colonists since they now had to pay more taxes on foreign imports. -
the currency act
The currency act made the colonies unable to make new bills or reissue old bills and instead made them use "hard currency" such as gold and silver. this made the colonies mad since the only way to get those is from great britain. -
the stamp act
the stamp act added a tax system to paper goods by making colonists who buy or sell paper goods put a stamp on them. this made the colonists angry since it now cost more to import and export paper goods. -
the quartering act
the quartering act made it so that any american colonists had to let any british soldier who needed a place to stay to stay with them. this angered the colonists since they had no choice but to let them live with them for free. -
the declaratory act
this was brought upon the colonists to replace the stamp act since the boycotts of the stamp act hurt british trade, this act said that parliament has the same power of britain as it does in america. -
townshend act
the townshend acts taxed all goods imported into america. this angered the colonists since they thought it was an abuse of power. -
boston massacre
the boston massacre was a deadly riot that happened in boston leaving five dead after a bunch of colonists started a brawl with a lone british soldier. -
boston tea party
this was a political protest where a bunch of colonists threw 342 chests of tea brought to the americas by the east india company to protest parliament. -

this allowed british soldiers to live with colonists if they needed a place to stay without the permission of the colonists.
