    The number of people that can be successfully integrated
    Tilos has supported 12 families, which correspond to around 70 people. That number is significant, because the island's current resident population is hardly 500 people. So we can follow this model in proportion to our population.In other words, bigger communities can take larger numbers. Thus, we are able to integrate approximately 5.160 refugees ,as the population in Kozani is circa 43.300 people.

    The refugees will stay in a purpose-built camp in ''Ksenias'' area, a small hill, which is near the city center. It's beauty is magestic and from up there you can see the whole city. Furthermore, the refugees will have the ability to reach the hospital , the super-markets and other similar facilities quickly. The camp can be established by Solidarity Now with the help from UNHCR, an organisation and a refugee agency, which have also established the camp in Tilos.

  • The kind of enterpreneurship that can be developed

    The kind of enterpreneurship that can be developed
    With the arrival of the refugees we can also develop a different type of enterpreneurship in our area. Specifically, the refugees can find temporary job in Crocus area, around 10 minutes far from Kozani. They can work seasonally there, by taking part in the well-known ''safran'' harvest. As a result the economy will be strengthened through the ''safran'' trade,which is so positive for our city.

  • The way our school can help

    The way our school can help
    Another factor that will help with the integration of the refugees and their adjustment in Kozani is our school and its students. We can organise a ball or a charity in our school with the aim to collect and then donate necessery goods, such as food, clothes, money, school suplies and other things to the refugees. We can also accept them in our friend - groups and communicate with them for any additional help.

    The potential benefits for our local community
    The arrival of the refugees will affect positively our local community. It is well-known that the presence of the refugees can inject money into the city because they will spend their money in local shops.
    Moreover, as i have already mentioned,they can help in the process of ''safran'' harvest, so they will reinforce the economy.
