Thirty Years War
The thirty years war was a war in Germany between the protestants and roman catholics. They were fighting for power which led to a storm of strategies. They became the Holy Roman Empire. As a result with the chaos, Germany ended up separating and dividing more. The battle between religions ended after these 30 years of war. The reason this event was so important was because of the impact it made and how it changed the geopolitical face of europe. -
English Bill of Rights
The English Bill of Rights was created because of the ongoing abuse of power by King James II. There were rules set in place for the rulers. Meaning the rulers weren't free to make many changes. By law the rulers would have to go to parliament with their proposal. Freedom of speech, religion, press were all individual rights that were given. The English Bill of rights made a huge impact, eventually inspiring the U.S. Bill of rights. -
War of the Austrian Succession
The death of Emperor Charles VI in 1740 was just the beginning of the Austrian succession. Frederik II invaded with his prussian army into Silesia. Frederik ended up getting some French and Bavarians to turn against Maria Theresa. He succeeded with manipulation which was a strategy to his first victory. 3 victories later he got the title of Frederik the Great. The war continued to invade more areas of Europe and world wide. The Austrian Succession caused the rise of Prussia’s power. -
Stamp Act
The stamp act was made so they could afford keeping military and troops in it’s colonies. Colonial residents were forced to contribute by paying tax. The stamp act was very controversial however causing many people to protest. Every will, commercial contract, cards, had to have a tax stamp. The stamp act was important because it was the first time the English government had taxed residents individually. -
American Revolution
The main reason the American Revolution began was the French and Indian war. Taxes and laws also contributed to the start of the American Revolution. Great Britain’s North american Colonies attacked the British to create the United States of America. The American Revolution shaped a lot of the history, regarding politics and religion. The American Revolution is so important because of how successful it was to get America’s independence from Great Britain. -
Treaty of Paris
The treaty of paris was signed to end the wars. French and Indian wars, wars of the american revolution came to an end. They were fighting for justice and peace. U.S formed boundaries and established some places. The British ended up accepting the USA's independence. The importance of the treaty of Paris was because of how they united and ended the violence. -
French Revolution
The French Revolution started by a Revolution storming a prison called Bastille. The rioters stormed and broke in and took gunpowder and weapons. The Revolution completely changed social and political ways of France. It puts an end to lots of conflicts and political parties. Took political power from the Catholic Church. -
Tennis Court Oath
The tennis court oath started because the people wanted to ensure the National Assembly would finish writing their new constitution. On June 20th 1789, member of the third estate took a oath on a nearby tennis court. The oath was on voting to not separate until the constitution of the kingdom was established for France. It was important, because it showed the people were not giving up against Louis XV. It made a loud message and a major turning point -
Storming of the Bastille
A group of angry people from Paris decided to invade and attack to find ammunition and weapons, and they also planned to free some of the prisoners. They got control of the building to find out there were only 7 inmates. The storming of the Bastille is important because of it effected the history of the Revolution. It also effected the governing system. It also was one of the reasons for the French Revolution. -
Reign of Terror
The reign of terror, was the label during the time of the French Revolution. Following the first republic of France, many massacres and injustices occurred. Many disagreements came after the end of this monarchy-run system. In 1973, a civil war sparked due to the compulsory enlistment for the state's services. Towards the middle of the year 1974 the French army won the very prominent battle of fleurus, which began the ultimate turning point for France's military system.
