Birth of Abraham
Abraham was born to Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Lincoln. His siblings were Sarah and Thomas. He lived in a log cabin. -
Death of Abraham's mother
His mother became very ill after caring some sick neighbors. She died when Abraham was just nine years old. She died to "Milk sickness". -
The education of Abraham Lincoln
Abraham only went to school a little in his life. The rest of his education was him teaching himself. He taught himself how to study the law. One of the many books he read was Aesop's Fables. -
Marriage
Abraham and Mary got married in Springfield, Illnois. Mary's sister had a party at her house and invited Abraham to join the party. While there he met Mary Lexington and asked her "Miss Todd, may you dance with me in the worse way". They kept on talking and talking until they both got married. -
Robert was born
The first son of the Lincolns were born after 9 months of the wedding. Robert was named after Mary's father. -
Edward was born
Edward was born. He was named after one of Abraham Lincoln's friends. He was an animal lover as one time he cared for a kitten. Despite Mary's disliking of cats, she let him take care of it. His parents always referred to him as being caring and tender-heart. -
Edward died
Edward was 3 when he passed away. He died of Thyroid Cancer. Mary took very badly about his death and so did Abe too. -
William was born
He was the third son born to Abe and Mary. He was named after one of Mary's brother in law. He was also an animal lover as he one time had goats in the White House. -
Tad Lincoln was born
His third son was born. He was the youngest of all Lincolns. He was named Tad for having a large head and being wiggly as a tadpole when he was a baby. This nickname was from Abraham himself. -
Elected!
On November 6, 1860 Abraham Lincoln was elected 16th President of the USA. When he found out that he was elected he ran home yelling "Mary! Mary! We were elected!". Mary supported him all the way through his job and was considered his "right hand man". She was happy and proud he was elected. -
Civil war started
A war broke out in the south due to Abraham freeing the slaves. The war was about how the south disagreed and wanted to keep their slaves. Many slaves were free besides the ones of the south. Slowly over time the war ended. -
William died
Willie died to Typhoid fever. It was due to the water that was in the White house. This made Mary depressed as Abe tried helping her as much as he could. Though due to his job he wasn't always there for her and Robert. -
Civil war ended
Robert E. Lee surrendered which caused the war to end. Slavery was now a bad thing to do and had all slaves free. This caused a bump up on Abraham's part with slaves and freedom. -
Abraham was shot
While at the Ford's Theatre he was shot by Booth. He was watching Our American cousin with Mary and a couple of his friends. He died eight hours later. Mary was now a widow with depression due to this event.
