Hara Kiri & Charlie Hebdo
In November 1970, Hara Kiri Magzine released a cover mocking the former president of France Charles de Gaulle and the Club Cinq disaster. The magzine was banned afterward, and as a result of it, the editorial team changed its title to Charlie Hebdo in order to sidestep the ban.
The new name was derived from a comic magzine called Charlie Mensuel; however, it also implies Charles de Gaulle. The publication of Charlie Hebdo cased in Dec 1981 and it didn't publish any magzine till 1992. -
