As media art became more mainstream people included ways to interreact with there audience through the screen. An example would be Jefrrey Shaws "Legible City" where the audience rides a bicycle through different cities of Manhattan, Amsterdam, and Karlsrule. -
Kalup Linzy
Kalup Lindzay was responsible for crating the subgenre "Theater of the self performing who you are".
This includes influence in color, editing, and acting. -
Performance Art Subgenre
Some others who combined video art with other performance art used the camera as the audience.

Murals and collages
As video art started to revolutionize so did other form like video murals and collages.
