Nelson’s childhood
Rolihlahla attended primary school near Qunu, where he received his new name, Nelson. In 1930 his father passed away, and he was given to another family at the age of 12. In 1937 he attended the Wesleyan college, in 1939 he enrolled at the university of Fort Hare and in 1942 he gets a BA from the university of South Africa. -

He was married 3 times and he had 6 children, which only 2 of the 6 are alive today -
Nelson’s career
Nelson Mandela found the ANC Youth League, a non-racial community that believed in democracy for all people and fought apartheid. He also became the secretary of the ANCYL in 1948 and in 1951 he became the president. In 1962 he got arrested because he left South Africa without the passport, but in reality it was just an excuse and he was released in 1990. -
Nelson’s achievements
In 1993 he won the Nobel peace prize, in 1994 he became the president of South Africa, then he made the Nelson’s Mandela children’s fund and after that he found the Mandela Rhode foundation. -

Nelson’s death
In 2001 he had cancer and died on December 5th 2013 at the age of 95 peacefully at his home, in Johannesburg
