In the 1920s the economy florished and people invested in stocks. They bought everything on credit cards and it was the time of big bands. Also at that time was prohibition and many gangsters such as Al Capone. -
Stock Market crashes/ Great depression begins
In 1920 the Stock Market Crashed. Also that became the day is now called "Black Tuesday". Another event that happened in 1920 is the Valentine's Day Massacre cause by gangsters. -
Economy Slows
In 1929 "The Great Depression" started. The Great Depression caused the banks to fail. After the banks failed people lost jobs and homes. Since everyone was poor town and city had to start breadlines.During 1929 there were Hooverviles, hoboes,the drought began in Great Plains, and Golden age of radio. -
