A Little Story About Me

  • Birth

    Birth
Of course my birth was a significant part of my life, it's where it all began. I was born April 25th, 1994, in the city of Culiacan in Sinaloa, Mexico; the youngest child out of five. My siblings, being diversed in age, helped my mom out when it came to taking care of me. I could not have asked for a more loving and caring family.
  • Started School

    Started School
I do not recall too much of this point in my life because I was technically still a toddler. I was around the age of four when I began going to what you would know to be preschool here in the United States. Schools in Mexico are usually strict of uniform and hygiene, such as making sure your uniform is clean and wrinkle free. The white collard shirt, navy blue shorts, and shiny black shoes were tedious yet very proper.
  • Moved from Mexico to the US

Moved from Mexico to the US
I was so young, I didn't fully comprehend that not only had we moved out of state, but out of the country entirely. It was not until my third or fourth month of kindergarten that I realized that we had left Mexico to start a brand new life. Back then I didn't have any problem with the fact that my life flipped completely upside down, but now I look back and realize that if I had the choice, I would have never left.
  • 1st day of Kindergardten in the US

1st day of Kindergardten in the US
I bet your first day of kindergarten was absolutely magical; full of arts and crafts, laughter, nap time, and lots of new friends. For me it was the complete opposite, considering I did not learn how to speak English until halfway through the first grade. Children tried befriending me but only succeeded to frighten me by asking me questions in a language I did not know. I felt like a real life alien, trying to adapt to my new home and with my new peers.
  • Went to Disneyland for the First Time

Went to Disneyland for the First Time
If I was given a free ticket to anywhere in the world I would like to go, there would be no competition with Disneyland. Ever since I went to Disneyland Resort in California in 2001 I had been mesmerized. To me, it really was the happiest place on earth because it made me the happiest I had been at that point. What made my first visit the most significant is the fact that both my parents and all four of my siblings went on the trip, and nowadays we are not as close as a family as we were then.
  • Graduated Elemntary School

    Graduated Elemntary School
Frank Elementary School treated me well and brought some of the best memories during the full six years I spent there. FES helped me learn English in less than a year, which helped me be on the same academic level as my peers. I was devastated on my last day of the fifth grade because I knew that all my friends would continue to middle schools in the same school district, and since I lived in a different city I had to attend the Kyrene school district.
  • Graduated Middle School

    Graduated Middle School
I survived three years in what I considered one of the worst middle schools in the Kyrene School District. Of course it was in a very nice area, but Centennial Middle School was full of cruel, spoiled children. It was tough to leave such a diverse elementary school where no one cared what social class you came from or what brand your shoes were, to a school where people expected nothing but high class. I was never picked on more in my life, I was ecstatic to be done with this horrible experience
  • Dropped Out of School

    Dropped Out of School
School was never difficult for me. In fact, I am a quick learner. I was a terrible student because I was lazy and unmotivated. All I had to do was sit still for seven hours, and follow instructions. I was withdrawn from Mountain Pointe High School in 2010 when I fell into a pattern of missing school. Growing up, you always tell yourself you are not going to be one those "losers" that can't even finish high school, but you can easily fall off track.
  • I Got My Cat

    I Got My Cat
If you truly know me, then you know who my cat, Peregrin Took, is. Peregrin, better known as Pip, is named after one of my favorite characters from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. The reason that he is a milestone in my life is because I have never had such a close connection with an animal in my life. I know, I sound like your typical cat lady, but the joy he has brought to my life can not be explained. He was separated from his mother too early, which is why I believe he cares so for me.
  • Turned my life around

    Turned my life around
From everything I've achieved and failed in my life, all the mistakes and horrible decisions I've made, it's all has pushed me to the this point in my life. I have the choice to either keep my life on this destructive, downward spiraling path that leads me to nothing, or I can completely shake myself awake and do everything to my fullest potential. I know that there is so much more I can accomplish in life, and I'm the only person standing in my way.
