May 24, 1852 Ireland
My name is Adam Adair and was born in Ireland in May 24, 1852. I live with my father and mother and with 2 brothers amd 1 sister who is the youngest. I have 6 friends who were Irsh, but later move to America. My purpose for writing this is becasue I don't know if I might die or might live on in America, but I hope this will be the history for the family to feel how much it like in the past. -
In March 1, 1872
My famiy and wanted to move out from Ireand because we heard alot about America a freedom and where job for many immigrant. So we went to the boat where it would take us to Amercia. Then it took 9 days for the boat to travel to America. So we made it to Ellis Island which many called it. I even saw the huge staue of lady that is carrying a torch and the paper. Then at the dock, the line was long but at the docter inspection was disgusting since he doesn't wear a golve or have his hands. -
April 10, 1872
Then atfer that eveything fine expect when giving your name to the American. Then we brought a ampartment from the owner. Then my family and I try to find jobs and which it was hard to find since many people have taken it. Then I had a chance of getting one of the job from the steel factory since it was the only job that was left. After that I got to know the workers and the boss and the supervisors which I only the two that I met, Tomas Grant was the boss and Alex Long who was the supervistor. -
October 20, 1872
I got a fever when working. Then I later look a picture of some amercian men who look like on their tweties and the boss who I know was in there too. It was hard to read on the words, but I knew something bad happen, so I went to the steel factory and see if anyone was around. Then I met the superviosr who was in Tomas's office. Then I ask him about what really happen at the steel factroy. So he explain eveything about the murder at the steel and how Tomas and his group got arrested. -
Novmeber 13, 1872
So now Alex Long is going take over the steel factory until Tomas Grant chose who will be one. I have made friends with some couple of worker who were hire. My father retired from his job aa a construction worker, and the news aboutkicking out chinese men from America. -
Decmeber 18, 1873
So now that every thing is normal as it seem. Now my family and I have food and clothing to spport our selves. Job at the steel seem as normal now since Tomas is now in prision for 8 years. So I been making pently of money while my parents sayed home taking care with my siblling since my parents are getting old.
