Peter Barrett, a former Sailing Club member, participated in the Olympics for Finn class sailing. This was his first of three Olympics. In the 1968 games, he won the gold medal. -

In this year, the Sailing Club gets major recognition
The Sailing Club is recognized as the largest university sailing club in the country, with having between 2,500 and 3,000 members and 80 boats. -
In this year, the SCUBA Club is accepted and Hoofers breaks its members record
Over a decade after the idaa was proposed, the SCUBA Club is finally established as part of Hoofers. Hoofers reaches over 5,600 members in total. -

Hoofers 5th annual "Rail Jam"
Hoofers was back this year with its 5th annual "Rail Jam", a ski and snowboard event that takes place on Observatory Hill where members compete for the best pipe ride.
