storehouses to temples
surplus foods were often kept in storehouses which would hopefully prevent food shortages in the future. But they also used something else to help prevent food shortages. they prayed to the gods for a good harvest for that year. But as these 2 rituals intertwined, the deposits of surplus food became offerings to the gods. Which then turned the storehouses into temples.
