On August 13 1961, Elsa goes to the eastern side of Berlin to have a sleepover with her cousin. Through the night while they are sleeping the Berlin Wall is put up and they wake up to a town of horrors.

While Elsa misses her family, the eastern government is enforcing new laws for the Berlin Wall.

It's Christmas 1961, Elsa tries to show that she's grateful but she can't control her emotions.

Elsa's birthday has occurred and she is getting used to life in the eastern bloc.

Peter attempts to cross the border but gets short down by eastern soldiers. The soldiers let peter bleed to death and his funeral is coming up.

President John F. Kennedy gives an inspiring speech and gives Elsa and other citizens hope for the future in Berlin.

President John F. Kennedy is assassinated and it leaves Elsa to grieve.

Elsa turns 16 but is wishing to be in west Berlin which has so many different opportunities.

President Ronald Reagan spoke at the Brandenburg gate in West Berlin. President Reagan is demanding for the gate to be torn down.

Finally, in 1989 the Berlin is torn down. Elsa reunites with her family after 25 years and is well beyond grateful.
