Castellers de Vilafranca
Casteellers de Viafrance started in 1948 and have evolved since then. Castellers de Vilafrance perform at festivavals in the summer. The Castellers build a tower out of 400 people with the youngest at the top. The towers are peformed along with traditional Catalan dances, music, recitals,and firework displays. The festival of Saint Felix is a week long festival of these Spain traditions -
Morcos y Cristianos
Each year there are over 150 different Marcos y Cristianos festivals. The best one is in Alcoy. This festival is celebrated to remember the Battle of Alcoy. This festival is very important in Spain it is planned for all year. Noise and color are all around as Christian and Moorish armies walk around with music. There are a lot of fireworks during this event.Through out the festival fake battles are reanacted bbetween the Christian and Marcos armies. -
Marcos y Crisianos
On the last day of the festival in the morning the Christians are defeated and then in the afternoon the Marcos are defeated. -
La Feria de Abril (Seville April Fair)
La feria de Abril is a huge event held every year. The fair begins on the monday 2 weeks after Holy Week at midnight and ends with fireworks. The date as of right now for 2011 will be May 3rd throught the 8th. At the event there will be girls wearing beautiful flamenco dresses, lots of flamenco dancing, live music and a bar. Themes other than flamenco include horses and bull fighting.
