The Trail of Tears was a forced removal of the Cherokee Indian Nation. The journey started in the Appalachian valleys of Georgia and finished in present day Oklahoma. Over 20,000 marched and over 4,000 Indians died from starvation, disease, and inproper exposure to the environment. The removal was a result of the Indian Removal Act of 1830. -

The Trail of Death was a forced removal of the Potawatomi Indians by the United States. This was due to The Indian Removal Act, which was signed by former president Ander Jackson. The Removal began in Plymouth Indiana on Septemeber 4, 1838 and ended in Osawatomie, Kansas on Novemeber 4, 1838. The march began with 859 indians who traveled 665 miles, at the end over 150 were missing.
