    Columbus was born between August and October of 1451.

    First Voyage

    In 1492 Columbus made his first voyage. He had three ships, The Nina, The Pinta, and The Santa Maria. Columbus was looking for a shorter way to get to India for trade. He sailed across the Atlantic and found land. He named it San Salvador.

    COlumbus sailed a second time, with 7 ships, to the West Indies. He went to find gold and slaves.
