Reign of Joseph Bonaparte.
Napoleon III places Joseph Bonaparte on Spanish throne. This caused divisions in Spain, as many wanted to be accept Joseph, but his lack of reforms made them also want a revolution. Eventually, the public concluded that a revolution was needed for their independence. -

The Spanish Constitution of 1812 gave universal male suffrage. -
Spread of Reverberations.
The spreading of Reverberations cross Europe lead to vast changes. Princes and monarchies met to determine the borders of nations after Napoleon`s fall. In fear of a similar situation, no single power was allowed to dominate afterwards, weakening the power of the royalty. -
Overthrow of Ferdinand VII.
Restoration of Spanish constution, after middle class overthrows Ferdinand VII`s monarchy.
