Month 1
- The baby is the size of a blastocyst (.1 to .2 mm)
- At 3 weeks the child genetic material has developed and the sex is already decided
- This can't be seen in an ultrasound yet-
- A face takes form with large dark circles for eyes. The mouth, lower jaw, and throat are developing. Blood cells are taking shape, and circulation will begin.

Month 2
The baby is under an inch long (zygote)
- The baby is now a tiny human being
*Development:
- heart beating
-brain developing
-all limbs/hands/ feet developed
- eyes not made yet
* The neural tube (brain, spinal cord, and other neural tissue of the central nervous system) is well formed
*The digestive tract and sensory organs begin to develop -
Month 3
- The baby is the size of a melon
- All organs are present
- Baby is developed

Month 4
- Baby is the size of an avocado
- Baby listens to the mothers voice
- Facial expressions are shown
- Pregnancy begins to show

Month 5
The baby is about 10 inches long and weighs from 1/2 to 1 pound
* The baby is on a growth spurt
- Baby bones and muscles developed
- Baby fingerprints developing
- Hair is a big development in this month( adds protection)
* Baby is now kicking, twisting and moving -
Month 6
- The baby is about 12 inches long and weighs about 2 pounds
- Development:
- The eyebrows form
- The vocal cords function
- The eyes open
- The baby is hiccuping and stretching

Month 7
- The baby's nervous system is forming and sensitive .
- Baby is 46.51 cm
- Baby drops to pelvis

Month 8
- Pelvic pressure as baby drops
- Baby is now about 46cm or 18in
- Baby is about 2.27kg or 5 lbs

Month 9
*Towards the end the baby will on average be around 7 pounds
- this varies depending on the mother
- baby's lungs are maturing
- shedding layer of hair
- other body systems are developed
