    The first portable microcomputer produced by Osbourne Computer Corporation. By todays standards, it wouldn't probably be considered a laptop as it didn't have it's own battery and needed to be plugged in to a socket. Yet, It was physically portable and weighed in approximately 16 lbs.

    Steve Jobs created the NeXT cube after being forced out of Apple in 1995. The NeXT cubes defining feature was its object oriented multitasking operating system. It allowed for rapid prototyping and development of software applications.
