In 1626, the Dutch sent Peter Minuit out to meet the the Native Americans became friends through trade. The Dutchand Native Americans traded iron pots, beads, and blankets with each other. The Dutch became alliances with the Minuit. They helped them in battle and also gave them weapons. -
