French & Indian War
The fench and Indian war was fought between the British and the french. The french where winning the war until the british sent millions of dollars and thousands of troops.The war was seven years long. The only way the british won was they dragged it out so long. In the end the King got all the land and gave Lousiana to the Spanish for Florida. -
Proclamation Line
King george III issued the proclamation line on October 7, 1763. The king wanted to stabilize relations with the Indians and keep them trading and selling goods to him. So he did this to show his power and to keep him fromanother war. The only proablemas he had already gave people some of the land so they still moved there.He just found the Appalacian Mouuntain range and drew the line. -
Townshed Acts
The acts where called the townshed acts, because Charles Townshed was the one who came up with it. The acts where 5 laws that differently tax the colonists. They where ment to pay the goveners and judges. This was so that the colonies would be indepdent. These acts started the boston tea party and boston massacre. Also it was a punishment to the colonists from the parlament. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston massacre was a angry mob of colonists and a group of British soldiers. When the mob was saying fire and throwing things one solder thought that his commanding officer sad fire. So he fired and then all the rest did and only a hand full of the 200 died. So when the colonists wrote about it they sad they where just mosing along and got shot at. Plus the colonists where tring to prevoke an attack. -
Boston Tea Party
The boston tea party was a group of men who got on the king's ships in boston harbor and dumped all the tea. Into the harbor and the harbor turned black for two weeks. The colonists told the people to send the tea back until the tax was lifted. So the men wouldn't send it back so they board the boats dressed like indians. -
Intolerable Acts
This act was made, because the king and the parlament where mad. The king was mad, because the dumped millions of dollars worth of his tea. The parlament was mad.because the colonists where not following there laws. One of the big things is that the parlament has no one from the colonies to represent. Where a whole bunch of acts put together. Plus some people thought it was aganist there rights as citizens of the empire. -
Declaration of Independence
The declaration of Independence says that all the colonies are free from the British Empire. The person who wrote declaration was Thomas Jeferson. It gave people rights and one right was to rebel. Some of them where against the King. It was the thing that made most people join the rebelion.
