Christopher's early childhood.
He was born into a middle class family. He was the first of four kids. He grew up in the Republic of Genoa, Italy. His dad Dronenico Columbo, was a weaver and excpected Christopher to be one also. Christopher also believed that he would become a weaver. One day however ( date not given) he decided that he wanted to sail the sea and lead long voyages. -

Apprenticeship
At the age of fourteen Christopher leaves school and apprenticed himself to a merchant. After learning from the merchant at the age of nineteen he took his first long voyage. This voyage went to the Chios Island in the Agean Sea. After returning from this voyage he learned how to navigate a ship and he would soon settle in Lisbon but not by choice. Returning back his ship was shot down by canon balls and was sunk off the coast of Lisbon where he would settle. -

Voyage 1 part 1
After the Spanish Monarchs , Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand agreed with Christopher Columbus on his requests they supplied him with a crew and three ships full of previsions. On August 3, 1492 Columbus was ready for his voyage to begin. Life on the ship was hard with tight living areas and bad food. One day Columbus’ crew found land. Voyage 1 part 2
didn’t know that Christopher Columbus claimed the land and appointed himself governor. After traveling through many islands Christopher found little gold and had to return back to Spain. But, he left a few people and told them to make a small city. -

Voyage 2 part 1
Columbus decides to return back to the island in the Bahamas. He gets two more ships and another crew. He returned to find the town burnt down both the people from the Island and members of Christopher’s crew dead. Columbus got more men all of which were in persuit of the rumored gold that lay on the islands but it only became worse. People continued to die. Christopher decided to escape the massacre and set up a new town Seventy five miles away from where the original colony had been. -

Voyage 2 part 2
The new colony was called Isabela. Soon after camp was set up Christopher’s crew began searching for gold and growing crops. Soon the ground became useless for growing crops and a war was breaking out between his crew and the tainos. Christopher soon had to return. But left some of the crew at the colony. -
May 30, 1498
Voyage 3
After getting supplies from the Monarchs of Spain Christopher set back out. Soon however, he and his crew found themselves just off the edge of a continent. This continent is modern day South America. After exploring Christopher and his crew set back out for the Island Isabela. When Christopher and his crew returned they not only found another massacre but a group of his previous crew in armed rebellion. -

Prisoner
After he was unable to do much he and his brother were arrested and stripped of their command. They soon returned back to Spain. Christopher soon found himself before both the monarchs. All of them were sad about the turnout. The monarchs gave a few of Christophers rights back to him. While they disliked his control over islands they needed his navigation skills, thus giving him a minimal punishment. -

Last Voyage
Columbus sets out for his final voyage. However, he and his crew were in trouble from the start due to the quality of the ships. Christopher was banned from the Hispaniola, the first island he had set up. Soon they found themselves stranded in Jamaica due to the ships falling apart over the course of the trip. -

Savior
After more than a year help was finally sent to Christopher. The governor that took the place of Columbus sent ships to Jamaica and rescued Christopher and his crew. During the period that Christopher and his crew had to wait Columbus became sicker and sicker as time passed. He was soon close to fully blind. While in constant pain. He was also having heart conditions. -

Coming Home Part 1
Columbus arrives back in Spain from his last and final journey. In his final years he was rich, but unhappy. He believed that he should have had more money and fame. He thought this because he felt that he had been cheated out of his rights, that he and the monarchs had agreed on. He spent most of his free time writing books about how he was cheated out of his wealth. -

Coming Home Part 2
He also began to try and put a voyage together that would sail to Jerusalem and save it from the Muslims and convert it’s religion back to Christianity. This voyage would never happen. -

The end
After leading many voyages and doing many courageous things Christopher Columbus died. He died angry feeling cheated out of his wealth but felt good about the fame he had achieved and the his wife, Felipa and their son, Deigo.
