    Magna Carta
    A group of barons force King John to sign the Great Charter also known as Magna Carta. Tired of John's military campaigns and high taxes the barons were looking for protection against the king's heavy-handed acts. The Magna Carta gsaurentees things like a trial by jury and due process.
  • The English Bill of Rights

    The English Bill of Rights
    The English Bill of Rights Contained a series of rights in which people of England were entitled. These ideas in the Bill of Rights were originally founded by John Locke. Rights such as the right to bear arms. The U.S. later followed in the adoption of their own bill of Rights
  • Boston Massacre

  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    A group of men dressed up like Mohawks got on three ships in the Boston Harbor which contained tea. The broke the tea chests and dumped them into the harbor. They did this in protest to Britian's control over tea trade.

    Delegates from every colonie excluding Georgia met in Philidelphia PA. These men included John and Samuel Adams, and Patrick Henry. They did things like disscus the current situations and debated on plans of action.

    Daniel Shays led a armed uprising in western Massechusetts.The uprising forced state judges to close their courts. The next year Shays led an attack on the federal arsenal at Springfield.

    The Virgina Plan was a proposal by the Virginia delegates. The plan called for the larger states to have more representitives and the smaller states to have less representitives. It was drafted by James Madison.
