    The flashpoint of the revolution, Parisians storm the garrison/prison in search of arms and gunpowder. The Bastille, long a symbol of the Ancien Regime and royal authority falls.
  • The Great Fear

    A rumour spreads quickly throughout the country that the nobles had formed an army to kill the peasants to help put down the revolution. Peasants already hurt by grain shortages, organize and take up arms before the nobles can act y attacking landlords throughout the country This is also known as the Peasants Revolt. This action helps embolden the Paris reformers and other members of the Assembly giving more support for their cause. leads to the abolisment of feudalism.

    Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen
    Approximately 300 words long, it became the blueprint of a new social order for France and a basis for writing a new constitution. It outlined man's natural rights. It was drawn up by the National Assembly to provide support for their vision and became a rallying point for the country.
