The spanish explorer, Alvarez de Pineda believed there must be a sea lane from the Gulf of Mexico to Asia, On June 2, 1519 he became the first European to see the Misssissippi River which he named Espiritu Santo. -
Seige at the Alamo Begins
The "Battle of the Alamo" was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution and it all started on February 23, 1836. It was Mexican troops against Texas troops. All but 2 of the Texan defenders were killed. -
