Corpus Christi de Isleta is establisheda few miles from present-day El Paso. This is the first Spanish mission in Texas. -
Fort St. Louis
French explorer Rene-Robert Cavalier, Sieur de La Salle were lookking for the mouth of the Mississippi River, and landed in Texas by mistake. He then established Fort St. Louis in present-day Victoria County. -
La Salle Is Killed
La Salle is killed by some of his own men at an unknown location in East Texas. -
Indians
Colonist at Fort St. Louis are not felled by Indians, disease, poisinous snakes, or malnourishment. Though they are finished off by the Karankawas. -
Looking For Fort St. Louis

From Louisiana Into Texas
About 130-men strong, the Guetierrez-Magee Expedition crossed the Sabine from Lauisiana in a rebel movement against Spanish rule in Texas. -
