Declaration Of Israel
A few years after the Holocaust, the UN decided to create a home for Jews. The decision was made for the Division of the Palestinian Empire. The Jews were to get 56% of the Empire. This is because Israel was the original homeland of the Jews. This declaration of Israel’s independence enraged surrounding middle-eastern countries causing Israel and the Jews, to have war forced upon them the very day of Independence. -
Arab-Israeli Conflict
The conflict between The Arab-Israeli Nations began to sky rocket the day of Israel’s declaration of independence. The conflict was caused over the territory decisions of Israel getting 56% of the Palestinian Empire, forcing the Palestinians out of their homeland. Thus, making the Palestinians, and other surrounding Arab countries, upset with the Israelis. This is the beginning of the seemingly endless conflict between the middle east and Israel. -
Suez Crisis
The Suez Crisis was a military attack on Egypt by Israel, France, and Britain. The attack was directly followed by Egypt’s decision to nationalize the Suez Canal after the abandonment of an offer from the United States and Britain to finance the building of the Aswan Dam. The Canal is so vital because it is used for oil refineries to ship goods, and also military purposes as well. -
Six-Day War
The Six Day war was a war between Israel and its surrounding states of Egypt, Jordan and Syria. At the end of the war Israel gained have power over the Sinai Peninsula , the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. To this day the war outcome affects the geographical layout of Israel and the Palestinian territories and also added fuel to the fire on the territorial conflict between the two to begin with. -
War of Attrition
The War of Attrition was a limited war fought between Israel and Egypt. The war was started by Egypt as a way to force Israel to negotiate terms of the return of the Sinai Peninsula. However this goal was not obtained. A ceasefire was signed by both countries with no change in territory. No serious peace was reached. This war just caused the fued between Israel and Egypt to grow and later causes the Yom Kippur War. -
Yom Kippur War
The Yom Kippur War was fought between Israel and a list of Arab countries backed by Syria and Egypt. The war started when a joint attack on Israel by Syria and Egypt. Invading the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights on Yom Kippur (The holiest day in Judaism). The war ended with a near meeting between the United States and the Solviet Union. Both Nuclear superpowers who resupplied their allies during the war. The war ended with another ceasefire and little change geopoliticaly. -
Iraq-Iran War
The war began when Iraq invaded Iran, beginning an invasion by air and land into Iran. The attack was trailing a long history of border disputes, and fears of Shia uprising in the middle of Iraq's long-suppressed Shia majority influenced by the Iranian Revolution. 1982 Lebanon War
The Lebanon War began when the Israel Defense Forces invaded southern Lebanon. Israel decided to do the military operation after the attempted assassination of Israel's ambassador to the U.N. by the Abu Nidal Organization. Israel obtained Lebanon and surrounded the PLO and parts of the Syrian army. The war ended with a negotiation for the PLO and Syrian forces to have safe passege from Lebanon with aid of the Protection of International Peacekeepers. -

The First Intifad was a Palestinian uprising against Israeli control in the Palestinian Territories The revolt began in the Jabalia refugee camp and quickly spread throughout Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Over the course of the First Intifad many more Palestinians were killed then Israels. Palestinians even killed others of their own kind for thought of acts of treason. This is important because This war shows the growing tension between Israelis and Palestinians. -
Gulf War
Iraqi troops invaded Kuwait on August 2, 1990. The attack was met by the United Nations to drive the Iraqi forces out of Kuwait. In the end, Iraq lost and was forced to disarm. This is important because Iraq fought with American weapons. Also Iraq was supposed to disarm and never completely did, later being a cause of the American invasion into Iraq (Iraq War). -

The September 11 attacks were a series of in step suicide attacks by al-Qaeda on the United States on September 11, 2001.
